Rodrygo to Arsenal transfer latest - Real Madrid talks, £86m decision, Liverpool interest

Arsenal have been active in the current transfer window as they look to close the gap to the top of the Premier League table.

The Gunners will look to go one better in the upcoming season after a third second placed finish in three campaigns in 2024/25. One way to do so will be to strengthen in the transfer window.

So far this summer Arsenal have completed the signing of four players. Winger Noni Madueke is the latest to join, completing a move from Premier League rivals Chelsea last week.

He has joined Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Norgaard and Martin Zubimendi at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal are keen to add more new faces before the end of the window.

Fabrizio Romano has given the latest on Rodrygo’s future. The journalist says that any move for the winger is at the ‘early stages,’ with the player yet to make a final decision over his future.

“Rodrygo has to speak to Real Madrid again in the next days, decide whether he wants to go or stay, and get a final price, likely to be over €100m (£86m) at the start of talks,” he told GIVEMESPORT.

Liverpool 'interest'

The current Premier League champions have not been shy in spending money this window and have been linked with an interest in Rodrygo. TBR Football reports that the Reds have held talks with the winger over a possible move to Anfield.

The same report also says that Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta held talks with the player’s representatives before the Club World Cup. It is added that the Gunners are ‘still in the mix’.

Barcelona impact

Barcelona are one of the latest teams to be linked with an interest, with reports in Brazil claiming that they are now in the race for Rodrygo.

But even if they don’t act on their interest in the Brazilian, they could still have an impact on a potential move. The Catalan club have been heavily linked with Liverpool’s Luis Diaz this summer.

Rodrygo may be seen as a potential replacement for the winger should he leave Anfield. However, Barca now seem to have turned their attention to Man United’s Marcus Rashford with the England man arriving in Spain this week to undergo a medical ahead of a loan move to the Nou Camp.
