Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta look set to have a available to them, but there are several players they could sign for nothing.

That is because numerous big names have seen their contracts expire with eyes on a new challenge or a renewal not agreed. The Premier League has already lost Kevin De Bruyne and Trent Alexander-Arnold and others could yet follow.

The Gunners know a thing or two about free agent deals as Jorginho and Kieran Tierney have seen their deals expire with moves to Flamengo and Celtic, respectively, already agreed.

Leroy Sane

Arteta having a strong relationship with former Manchester City star Leroy Sane could help Arsenal win the race for his signature if he is unable to agree a new contract at Bayern Munich.

The two-time Premier League champion has already turned down terms which would have seen him earn £250,000-per-week and remain in Munich for another three years.

While Arsenal would not have to pay a transfer fee, considerable funds would likely be used on a signing bonus and for his wages.

Jonathan David

Arsenal desperately need a striker and one that can make an immediate impact. .

The 22-year-old is quite raw and therefore a signing not so rough around the edges could be preferred. Canada international Jonathan David may be just that with his exit from Lille, where he scored 109 goals from 232 appearances, confirmed last month.

Manchester United, Liverpool and Juventus have all been linked alongside Arsenal with one European club set to bring in a proven goal-scorer without spending a penny in transfer fees.

Angel Gomes

Alongside David, the Ligue 1 club will be losing Angel Gomes on a free transfer over the coming weeks. The former Man United midfielder has spent the last four years plying his trade in France but his spell there will end later this month.
