Arsenal looked very much like a team who suffered heartbreak in the Champions League in midweek and had little to play for in the Premier League when they took on Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
The players gave the Reds a guard of honour for winning the title, something that may not have been easy to do having been the closest challengers to Liverpool in the race for the crown this season.
It has been another season of 'what if' for as they ran out of steam in the Premier League title race and were then beaten by a better side in PSG in the Champions League semi-final.

Gakpo headed home an Andy Robertson cross moment after failing to capitalise when played clean through. But the nature of the goal - the Dutchman was completely unmarked - will have been worrying for Mikel Arteta.

Saliba was on his heels, however. Diaz ran from at least a couple of yards behind Saliba, with the Frenchman again on his heels not really aware of his surroundings, to allow the Colombian the freedom of Anfield to run past him and score.
In the grand scheme of things it will not matter what happens come full-time, but neither Saliba, nor his manager, will be too happy with his performance.
