YouTube: YouTube takes a new step towards addressing teen mental health, launching special wellbeing tools and video series..

Send Push

YouTube launched new content for teens focused on mental health and well-being. This initiative aims to provide young people with access to reliable and age-appropriate information in one place. Now, when teens search for mental health topics such as eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and ADHD, they will see a special "suggestions section" of videos created by trusted organizations. Google stated that this feature aims to make it easier for young people to access reliable and data-driven content.

India's Contribution
The National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India, has created the "Manosandesh" video series as part of this initiative. Leading mental health experts, researchers, and patient advocates answer questions from young people.

Dr. Pratibha Murthy, Director and Senior Professor at NIMHANS, said,

"Emotional balance, timely identification, and support during adolescence can positively impact lifelong mental health. Such initiatives not only raise awareness but also create safe environments in schools, families, and communities."

Collaboration with Global Organizations
YouTube stated that it is working with international organizations focused on spreading mental health awareness among youth. Videos on the platform will not only be engaging for teens but will also be based on data and research to provide users with reliable information.
