Nagpur (Maharashtra) [India], September 11 (ANI): Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said that in India, devotion to God and patriotism are not separate but are one and the same.
Addressing a gathering at the 'Somnath Jyotirlings Ceremony Program' in Nagpur on Wednesday, the RSS chief stated that the one who practices true devotion will also practice patriotism.
"Devotion to God and patriotism may seem a bit different, so we use two words, but the reality is that in our country, India, these two are not separate, they are one and the same thing. The one who practices true devotion will also practice patriotism. The one who practices patriotism with authenticity will be made to practice devotion to God by the Lord. This is not logic, it is experience; this is how it happens," he said.
The event was also attended by spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, the spiritual leader expressed his joy on visiting the RSS headquarters. He also extended birthday greetings to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
"Sangh (RSS) is completing its 100 years. This is the Headquarters of the Sangh. So, I am overjoyed" Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said.
On September 5, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) conducted its three-day all-India coordination meeting in Jodhpur with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale and top leaders of affiliated organisations in attendance.
The meeting, scheduled from September 5 to 7 was attended by all-India level office-bearers from 32 organisations. The first session began with floral tributes to Bharat Mata by Bhagwat and Hosabale, followed by a collective recitation of the organisational mantra.
