The journey of Virat Kohli in the Indian Premier League (IPL) is full of incredible moments that the fans have enjoyed throughout the years. These are the moments that have made him one of the most worshipped batters in the tournament over the last 18 years.
A milestone came in 2019 when scored his fifth century in the tournament against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens. It was the same day of April 19 as well when he got closer to the record set by former RCB opener Chris Gayle. It was the Kolkata franchise which won the toss and chose to bowl first and despite the two wickets within 10 overs, Virat played a captain's knock and brought up his fifth century in the tournament, scoring 100 off just 58 deliveries.
Virat struck at 172.41 and the knock included nine boundaries and four maximums. The last-minute flourish from Moeen Ali (66 off 28 deliveries) also made sure that the RCB innings got to a total of 213 in the end. This was a much-needed performance from the RCB team, who were struggling to get going in this season of the tournament.
