Did Badshah use Ozempic for 20 kg weight loss at 39? Rapper shares the diet strategy he followed

Rapper Badshah, known for his high-energy performances and larger-than-life presence, recently stunned fans with a dramatic physical transformation. The artist posted a shirtless photo by a pool on Instagram, revealing a much leaner and fitter version of himself. The image, paired with stylish sunglasses and an open shirt, quickly went viral, sparking admiration and curiosity from fans and followers alike.

The turning point for 39=year-old Badshah came during the pandemic lockdown. In a previous appearance on Shilpa Shetty’s wellness show, he admitted that a lack of stamina during performances made him realise how unfit he had become. “I began panting within 15 minutes… My work involves me moving around for 120 minutes,” he said, referring to his struggle with sustaining energy on stage. This moment motivated him to commit to a healthier lifestyle.

Battling Health Concerns and Online Speculation

Badshah’s transformation also raised questions on social media, with some speculating that he might have used weight loss drugs like Ozempic, a diabetes medication that has become popular among celebrities for quick results. However, in a recent interview, he dismissed these assumptions, stressing that his approach was grounded in consistent effort and discipline. The rapper revealed that he had been dealing with sleep apnea—a condition that causes shallow breathing during sleep—and that his obesity was only making things worse.

He explained that while a structured routine of exercise, diet, and sleep was essential, what truly helped him was portion control. He chose to work hard and lose weight the natural way rather than rely on shortcuts.

The Role of Portion Control in His Journey

Health experts have long emphasized that diet plays a larger role than exercise in weight loss. As per The Indian Express, Mukta Vashist, a dietician at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, notes that about 75 percent of weight loss can be attributed to dietary changes. She describes portion control as a scientific and effective method, especially for those struggling with obesity.

For Badshah, cutting down on extreme diets was key. These restrictive plans had previously left him feeling drained and even hungrier. Instead, he opted for sustainable eating habits—eating frequent, small meals throughout the day to stabilize energy levels and manage cravings.

Smart Eating Habits That Supported His Goal

To support portion control, experts suggest drinking two glasses of water 30 minutes before meals to suppress appetite and prevent unnecessary snacking. Using smaller plates and bowls can also prevent overeating by giving the illusion of fuller servings. Sticking to fixed meal times, avoiding skipped meals, and sharing dishes when dining out are all simple habits that reinforce moderation.

In terms of meal composition, Badshah focused on prioritizing protein. Consuming protein-rich foods at the start of a meal enhances satiety and naturally limits the intake of carbs. According to nutritional studies, having a larger portion of daily calories earlier in the day—especially at breakfast—can help in reducing overall hunger levels.

His diet also included high-fibre foods like leafy vegetables, whole grains, and fruits that aid digestion and increase fullness. Incorporating resistant starch—found in foods like legumes and slightly undercooked pasta—further helped regulate blood sugar levels.

Balanced Snacking and Lifestyle Change

Snacking was another area where Badshah made mindful choices. Instead of processed junk food, he included healthy options like a small handful of almonds, walnuts, or cashews, limited to about 8–10 grams. Fibre-rich salads with ingredients such as lettuce, cabbage, and tomatoes, along with roasted seeds or half an avocado, added variety and nutrition without overloading on calories.

Through these consistent lifestyle changes—balanced meals, portion control, and regular workouts—Badshah reportedly lost over 20 kilograms. His wardrobe evolution also reflects this change, shifting from oversized streetwear to more fitted, high-end fashion choices.

Fans React to the New Badshah

The response from fans was overwhelming. Many flooded the comment section of his Instagram post with reactions like, “Bhai itna slim kaise hogaya… tips dedo,” and “AP Dhillon ka copy lag raha hai.” The comparison to fellow artist AP Dhillon was a common theme among followers. Some even joked, “AP Dhillon real ID se aaooo,” pointing out the striking resemblance post-transformation.
