Srinagar: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday emphasised that Pakistan's nuclear weapons should be placed under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). During his visit to Srinagar's Badami Bagh cantonment, Singh lauded the Indian Armed Forces for the success of Operation Sindoor, which was launched to avenge the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
Posing a question to the international community, Singh said, "I ask the entire world if nuclear weapons are safe in the hands of such an irresponsible and rogue nation. I believe that Pakistan's nuclear weapons should be taken under the supervision of IAEA."

"After Pahalgam attack, the manner in which the people of Jammu and Kashmir expressed their anger against Pakistan and terrorists - I also salute the people of Jammu and Kashmir. I am here to feel that energy which destroyed the enemies. The manner in which you destroyed Pakistani chowkis and bunkers across the border, I think the enemy will never be able to forget it," he added.

Addressing the Indian Army personnel, the Defence Minister said that Operation Sindoor is not just the name of an operation but it is also the Narendra Modi government's commitment.
"This operation was a dream of every jawan - that we reach every terror camp, be it in valleys or in bunkers, and return only after finishing off those camps. I think Operation Sindoor was the biggest action against terrorism so far. For 35-40 years, India has been facing cross-border terrorism," Singh said.
He stated that Pakistan hurled a blow to the "head" of India by targeting innocent civilians in Pahalgam, but India hurt the neighbouring country by hurting them in its "chest" by carrying out Operation Sindoor.

"Today, India has made it clear to the entire world that we can go to any extent against terrorism. In Pahalgam, terrorists executed terror incident and attempted to hurt India, it was also and attempt to break the social unity of the country. They hurled a blow to the 'head' of India. We have hurt them in their chest," he added.
Singh was also accompanied J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at Badami Bagh Cantonment.
Earlier on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Adampur Air Base and interacted with the Indian Air Force personnel. Notably, Pakistan had claimed that its air force destroyed the air base in retaliatory strikes. PM Modi's visit to the air base debunked the Pakistani claim.
In the four-day military conflict, India destroyed several Pakistani air bases, including Nur Khan, Sukkur and Sargodha.
Some reports even claimed that India also hit Pakistan's nuclear facility at Kirana Hills. However, India rejected these reports.
