Mumbai: A molestation case has been registered against the Head of the Forensic Medicine Department at Mumbai’s civic-run KEM Hospital, following a complaint by the wife of an assistant professor at the same institution. The Bhoiwada Police have registered an FIR under various sections of the BNS and the POCSO Act.
According to the FIR, the accused doctor allegedly molested the complainant — herself a doctor — as well as her two minor daughters, during the period between 2022 and 2025. The complainant's husband is an associate professor at KEM Hospital, and there had been a long-standing professional dispute between him and the accused.
The FIR states that during this period, the accused touched the complainant inappropriately, ran his hand over her back, and allegedly threatened to kill her husband. In 2022, he also inappropriately touched her two minor daughters, the complaint further alleges.
The Bhoiwada Police have recorded a detailed statement of the complainant and registered a case under various sections of the BNS and the POCSO Act. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made so far, said a senior officer to FPJ.
