Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has officially been banned from India as the Indian government took action, two days after prohibiting several other Pakistani channels from operating in their country. The 47-year-old has come under the scanner in recent times for his obnoxious comments against the Indian Army in the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.
Afridi, who played over 500 games for Pakistan, has repulsively blamed the Indian Army on multiple occasions for not being vigilant enough after 26 Indian tourists died in the terror attack in Pahalgam. With Pakistan's militant groups alleged to have caused the attack, the former all-rounder asked for proof from the Indian media behind their accusations.

Earlier, the Indian government had banned the YouTube channels of former Pakistani cricketers in Shoaib Akhtar, Rashid Latif and Basit Ali. Additionally, content creators like Wasay Habib, Rizwan Haider, Aap Ka Mohsin Ali, Muneeb Farooq and Uzair Cricket also suffered the same fate. The list also includes BBN Sports and Samaa Sports.
Shahid Afridi and Shikhar Dhawan engage in verbal war on X
Due to Afridi's recent comments, ex-Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan hit back by saying that the 47-year-old should concentrate on plotting the progress of his country instead of making baseless statements against the Indian Army. Afridi replied to him by saying, 'Chouro jeet haar ko , aao tumhey chae pilata hun Shikhar.#Fantastictea' (Leave win-loss. Let me give you tea, Shikhar.)

While India have refused to play Pakistan in bilateral events, the BCCI is likely to rethink the decision to play them in the Asia Cup and global tournaments.
