A wedding ceremony in Kiswapur village turned tragic when the bride, Rinki Batham (20), died hours before the groom's arrival on Saturday evening. The incident occurred when the bride complained of severe abdominal pain during pre-wedding rituals.
Family members rushed Rinki to a local private doctor who administered an injection. Her condition deteriorated rapidly, and she died en route to Gursahaiganj Community Health Center. The groom, Rahul, who was leading the wedding procession from Umarda village, returned upon hearing the news.
Rinki's father Mahesh Batham has accused the doctor of medical negligence. Gursahaiganj police have initiated an investigation while District Medical Officer Dr. Swadesh Gupta stated strict action would follow if negligence is proven. Forensic experts are determining whether the injection caused anaphylactic shock or other complications.
The village observed mourning as both families canceled wedding preparations. Authorities have assured a thorough probe into the incident.
