As quick deliveries become the norm, Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL) is pushing the pedal on fashion quick commerce. The retail giant launched a four-hour apparel delivery service in the first quarter of FY26.
Called AJIO Rush, the service is currently available in six cities and offers 1.3 Lakh+ options to customers. The company said that the new offering is delivering better unit economics on the back of higher average bill value and lower returns.
“AJIO Rush, a 4-hour delivery service was launched during the quarter and is live in 6 cities with 130k+ options. With faster deliveries, the initiative will further improve customers’ shopping experience on the platform. The initiative is delivering better unit economics driven by higher average bill value and lower returns,” said the company.
With this, AJIO has followed the suit of fashion ecommerce major Myntra, which began piloting product delivery between 30 minutes and 2 hours last year. This also comes as a slew of new-age tech startups like Slikk, NEWME and KNOT are offering fast fashion deliveries.
That said, the company didn’t offer clarity on how much the digital and new commerce businesses contributed to Reliance Retail’s total revenue in Q1 FY26.
Overall, Reliance Retail’s net profit jumped 28.3% to INR 3,271 Cr during the quarter under review from INR 2,549 Cr in Q1 FY25. Revenue from operations rose 11.3% to INR 73,720 Cr in Q1 FY26 compared to INR 66,260 Cr in the year-ago period.
Digital Commerce Businesses See UptickAs AJIO rolled out its quick fashion delivery service, the marketplace’s revenue from “new customers” crossed the 18% mark, up 150 basis points YoY. AJIO also expanded its product catalogue to over 2.6 Mn options, up 44% YoY.
Meanwhile, the retail giant claimed that its grocery delivery platform, JioMart, clocked a 68% sequential and 175% YoY growth in quick delivery orders during the quarter under review.
It is pertinent to note that JioMart offers deliveries under 30 minutes. The company said that JioMart scaled up its quick hyperlocal commerce offerings to 2,200+ stores spanning 1,000+ cities.
It was also a healthy Q1 FY26 for Reliance Industries Ltd’s (RIL’s) digital streaming business. Buoyed by viewers flocking to the platform on account of IPL, JioHotstar averaged 460 Mn+ monthly active users (MAUs) during the quarter under review.
The company claimed that downloads of the JioHotstar app crossed the 1.04 Bn mark on Android devices in Q1 FY26.
Meanwhile, RIL’s digital arm Jio Platforms’ consolidated net profit jumped 25% to INR 7,110 Cr in Q1 FY26 from INR 5,698 Cr in the year-ago quarter. Operating revenue rose 19% to INR 35,032 Cr during the quarter under review from INR 29,449 Cr in Q1 FY25.
Overall, RIL’s operating revenue rose 5% YoY to INR 2.48 Lakh Cr. Net profit soared 76% YoY to INR 30,681 Cr during the quarter under review on the back of a one-time gain of over INR 8,900 Cr due to stake sale in Asian Paints.
Shares of RIL ended today’s trading session 0.02% lower at INR 1,476.85 on the BSE.
