Baloch insurgents, particularly the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), have carried out massive attacks on the Pakistani army in Pakistan's Balochistan province. There have been reports of heavy firing and explosions in many areas, including Quetta. Insurgent groups have claimed control over several areas, and videos of Baloch people removing Pakistani flags and hoisting their flags are going viral on social media.

Amid tensions on the eastern border with India, Pakistan is now facing a serious crisis on the western front as well. Baloch rebels demanding independence in Balochistan have intensified attacks on Pakistani security forces. BLA fighters attacked the Pak Army at five places in Balochistan. The Pak Army bases attacked by BLA include Quetta, Uthhal, Sohbatpur, Panjgur. According to reports, at least three major armed Baloch groups have claimed control over several parts of the province.
There have been several incidents of explosions and firing during clashes between the Pakistani army and insurgent groups in Balochistan on Thursday and Friday. Photos and videos being shared on social media show the Pakistani national flag being replaced with the Baloch flag at several places.
On Friday, Baloch insurgents targeted a Pakistani army convoy in Quetta's Faizabad area, while a military camp in Sibi was attacked with grenades. Earlier on Thursday, four different locations in Quetta were attacked by "unknown armed assailants".
Pakistan army targeted
According to Balochistan local media source 'Radio Zrumbesh English', the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) carried out at least six organised attacks in Kech, Mastung and Kachi, targeting Pakistani forces and their allies.
Baloch writer Mir Yar Baloch wrote on Twitter, "The Baloch people are now hoisting their own flags and taking down Pakistani flags. It is time for the world to withdraw its diplomatic missions from Pakistan and move them to an independent Balochistan."
This wave of attacks has come after the statement of former Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in which he said that the Pakistan government and army are losing control over Balochistan. He also said that senior government officials cannot travel in Balochistan without security forces.
Pakistan's problems increased. On Thursday, BLA militants targeted a bomb disposal team of the Pakistan Army with a remote-controlled IED in the Dashtuk area of Kech district, killing one soldier.
This development has taken place at a time when Pakistan is busy responding to India's Operation Sindoor. Under this operation, India carried out targeted attacks on terrorist hideouts in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK). Since then, several failed attempts at drone and rocket attacks have been made by Pakistan.
