Celebs Go Dating viewers floored as Kerry Katona bumps into Premier League boss pal

Celebs Go Dating viewers were left utterly stunned as former Premier League manager Sean Dyche made a surprise cameo on the E4 dating show.

The experienced ex-Everton gaffer, 54, has been without a club since being sacked by the Toffees back in January. Since then, he has popped up on sports panel shows Stick to Football and A League of Their Own.

But fans certainly wouldn't have expected him to dip his toe into reality TV waters. That's precisely what occurred though, with Sean turning up on the latest episode of Celebs Go Dating.

The E4 programme tries to match up various celebrities through multiple romantic encounters. Former Atomic Kitten member Kerry Katona, 44, has been appearing on the show after splitting from ex-fiancé Ryan Mahoney last November.

Kerry appears to have found love with fitness coach Paolo Margaglione. While the pair were enjoying their date during the episode, Sean suddenly appeared, reports the Daily Star.

Known as a huge music fan, Sean wandered over to greet his pal Katona. The 54 year old strolled up and beamed: "Hello! How are you?".

This bewildered narrator and comedian Rob Beckett, who cut in: "Surely not! That's ex-Everton, Watford and Burnley football manager Sean Dyche!".

As Sean and Kerry hugged, Rob joked: "Is Sean one of her ex-husbands?". When Kerry asked "You good?" Sean nodded towards Paolo and replied: "You dating these Northerners now are you?" The football gaffer nonchalantly said "fair play", shook Paolo's hand and added: "Lovely to meet you."

He then prepared to make his exit, commenting: "I'll leave you to it, I just wanted to say hello."

Kerry quipped: "I thought you were going to ask me out on a date then!" To which Rob responded: "Err, Paolo is still sat there Kerry." She retorted: "I'm doing well, he's lovely. I'm sticking with my guns, I'm going to stay."

Sean concluded the encounter with "Good, it's lovely to see you", followed by a peck on Kerry's cheek and another handshake for Paolo. Rob humorously remarked: "Well that wasn't weird in the slightest was it?".

Viewers were gobsmacked at the surprise appearance and quickly took to social media to share their reactions.

One viewer posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying: "Sean Dyche rocking up on #CelebsGoDating to check up on Kerry Katona's new fella was definitely not on my bingo card."

Another commented: "Sean Dyche making an appearance/cameo, chatting too Kerry Katona on #CelebsGoDating Well I never! ? ! I bet that was on none of your bingo cards for this year for sure!".

A third simply queried: "Why is Sean Dyche on celebs go dating?" Meanwhile, one fan noted: "Sean Dyche turning up on #CelebsGoDating was not on the bingo card."
