Former striker has congratulated his former club on , but some have been left susprised by his absence from the final. His one-time team-mate was among those in attendance, making a rare foray into punditry, but star Kane wasn't in Bilbao.
After the game, Kane shared Spurs' celebratory 'Winners' post to his stories along with the simple caption "Congratulations @spursofficial". He has also earlier shared a photo of the screen on which he was watching his former club from afar.
It appeared a few Spurs fans would have rather Kane had made the trip to Bilbao to cheer them on. "Sonny []>Kane and it’s not even close, he couldn’t even show proper support for us in a final," one wrote on social media.

After the victory, given to Spurs by Brennan Johnson's first-half goal, manager Ange Postecoglou spoke about Kane and about current captain Son - who now has a trophy in Tottenham colours. "We've had some unbelievable footballers, Harry [Kane] is an example, that has not had a moment like this here," he told TNT Sports.
"I wanted a day like this for Sonny and for one reason or not it has not happened before. Outside the dressing room [at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium], there are pictures of winning teams and I said to Sonny 'we have to get you up there'."
