James Martin furious as his car is broken into and his window smashed in broad daylight

TV chef could not contain his anger when he shared with fans that his car had been broken into, in 'broad daylight". Sharing a picture of his windscreen window that had been smashed to pieces, the 52 year old TV favourite captioned the post saying: "So in a week two of my friends cars got stolen, one other mate got mugged and now I had this happen all in broad daylight all in central London."

Hew went on to add: "London is broken big time…next time I’m bringing the Mali’s."

Within minutes of his post going up, fans rushed to the comment section to share their thoughts. One person wrote: "Wouldn’t visit London now it’s such a shame as it used to be wonderful." Another penned: "What is going on in this country."

Meanwhile a third person said: "Oh dear not good James people in London don’t care but some of them do xx." While another simply wrote: "The whole country is broken."

In April, James recently spoke fondly of his love of cars and his impressive collection which consists of sought after classics. Speaking to SL.Man about his favourite car, he revealed that his go to motor is his Toyota Hilux pick up truck.

But since purchasing it, he has become the subject of ridicule among his friendship group.

He said: "I've got a Toyota Hilux pickup truck that I absolutely love – you can chuck everything in it and it will go forever. All my mates take the mick: 'So you've got all these cars, but you drive around in a pick-up truck?'"

The Hilux is valued at an eye-watering £35,000. James then recalled the moment fellow car enthusiast and former pop star Jay Kay encouraged him to buy his BMW, which he also regularly drives.

He said: "Jay Kay told me to buy one of those. A lot of people buy RSA Audis and stuff like that, but the 760Li is absolutely mega – V12, 700 horsepower... Mega."

James' vast collection is believed to be worth an estimated £5million as includes vehicles that also hold historical value.
