Former Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laingrevealed that he felt his baby kick for the first time and became emotional during his latest podcast episode. Opening up on the Nearly Parents podcast, Jamie described the moment as ‘pure love’ as he recalled the momentous occasion.
Jamie, 36, and Sophie, 31, tied the knot in April 2023 and in June 2025 announced that they were expecting their first baby together. Since announcing their sweet news, they have been keeping fans up to date with their pregnancy antics through their shared podcast.
In the latest episode, Jamie goes into detail about the ‘chemical reaction’ he felt after feeling his baby kick, while Sophie explained that she had already been feeling the sweet kicks for three weeks. It comes after David Beckham speaks 'as a father' in 'family' announcement after latest Brooklyn snub.

Jamie said: “We felt the baby kick. Guys, it’s like a little foot, it's a little foot that suddenly went poof into the stomach, and I felt it there”.
Sophie then described the feeling like a fish swimming through her stomach, before Jamie added: “It’s insane, you can put your hands on the tummy and you can feel the baby kicking. I can’t tell you what it does. There must be some sort of chemical reaction that happens.
“When I feel the kick, something goes through my body, something hits me, some chemical nails my body and the only way to describe it is like pure love. I’ve never felt that pure love, like real pure love.”

Jamie’s best friend, Oliver Proudlock, who has two children of his own, commented on the clip shared to Instagram : “The PUREST”. Many fans also commented on the clip and described Jamie’s reaction and storytelling as ‘wholesome’ and ‘sweet’.
The parents-to-be started their journey on the reality series Made in Chelsea, where the public was able to watch their love blossom. After dating for several years, Jamie got down on one knee at the Rosewood London hotel in December 2021, where he and Sophie shared their first ever date, and popped the question.
Jamie had one of hotel's prestigious suites transformed with rose petals scattered across the floor and tea lights dotted around. A series of envelopes, which contained handwritten notes, had also been placed on the floor in a sweet gesture.
The TV duo married in a civil ceremony in London in April 2023 with close friends and family, before having a huge weekend celebration in Marbella in May 2023 surrounded by 200 of their nearest and dearest.
In March 2022, the couple launched their podcast, NearlyWeds, to document their wedding planning experiences. The podcast, later rebranded as NewlyWeds after they tied the knot, has been a huge hit with the fans.
After a short break earlier this year, they came back with another reband and labelled the podcast NearlyParents to match their new stage in life.
