Quilted bedspread that 'adds warmth for chilly nights' boasts near-perfect rating

With September arriving and the end of summer fast approaching, many of us are on the hunt for all manner of items to get snuggled up in time for so-called 'cosy season'. One area many turn to is upgrading bedding, and one bedspread sold by Dunelm is winning lots of fans, earning a near-perfect rating from more than 250 reviews.

The Helston Quilted Bedspread comes in a wide range of 12 colours - including chocolate brown, sage, olive green, natural cream, navy and grey - to match a range of existing room styles. It comes in two different sizes, double-kingsize that costs £30, or super king priced at £40.

Dunelm says the quilted design creates "a timeless and cosy atmosphere", while it's also machine washable to make it easy to keep clean. For those worried about drying it over winter, Dunelm says it can be put in a tumble dryer on a low setting.

Dunelm isn't the only retailer with bedding on offer, with Debenhams also knocking some big discounts off a number of sets as we approach the end of summer. One such option is the Christy 100% Organic Cotton Duvet Cover Set.

That's priced at £35.75 - £55.25 - a 35% saving on the usual retail price. It comes in four colours - white, beige, pink and green - though some sizes are out of stock in certain colours.

Elsewhere, Dusk has an affordable option with the Cambridge 200 Thread Count Duvet Cover. That's priced at £15 for a single, £25 for a double, £30 for king size and £35 for a super king.

Back to the Dunelm bedspread, one happy buyer said: "Beautiful olive green bedspread, love the colour. Very good quality, makes the room feel complete."

Another continued: "Thrilled to bits! Exactly what I wanted. Colour perfect and was kept informed with regards to delivery. Thank you." A third went on: "Love my new throw. Lightweight for hot weather and added warmth for chilly nights. Value for money, good quality."

Despite the positive feedback, there have been a couple of issues flagged from a small number of shoppers. One mentioned: "The product is adequate though it is not the same sage green as the one I purchased about 4 weeks ago."

Another added: "Looks totally different on the internet than (the) actual product."
