In a shocking daylight robbery, a jewellery showroom in Chandni Chowk, Delhi was targeted by armed miscreants who fired shots and fled with cash worth Rs 35 lakh. The audacious attack took place in the afternoon, sending ripples of fear through the bustling market area.
Incident DetailsThe jewellery showroom, located opposite Katra Neel in Chandni Chowk, came under attack around 2:30 PM on Monday. According to eyewitnesses and the police, three armed criminals entered the shop and started threatening staff. One of the robbers reportedly opened fire at the cashier’s office glass door to intimidate the employees.
During the chaos, the robbers forced the showroom’s cashier, Vicky Jain (40), to hand over Rs 35 lakh in cash. Another accomplice waited near the stairwell, providing cover for the getaway. After grabbing the loot, the criminals fled the scene swiftly.
Police Response and InvestigationFollowing the robbery, the showroom owner immediately alerted the police. A team from the Lahori Gate Police Station reached the spot promptly to investigate. Police confirmed that the office door where the cashier was stationed had been broken during the incident.
Authorities are currently combing through CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts to track down the suspects. A police spokesperson assured that all efforts are being made to apprehend the three miscreants and recover the stolen money.
