In Hinduism, worship is completely forbidden during the eclipse, as it is considered an inauspicious period. At the same time, a special prayer is offered at the time of eclipse in Islam. Eclipse in Islam

In Islam, solar and lunar eclipses are considered a part of Allah's nature. In the Quran and Hadith, it is described as a natural phenomenon, which is not linked to any inauspicious sign or bad omen. In Islam, events like eclipses are considered a proof of Allah's miracles and instructions have been given to do special prayers during this time.

Islamic scholar Salauddin Mufti Qasmi explains that lunar eclipse or solar eclipse is one of the signs of Allah. In the Hadiths related to Islam, the prophet of Allah, Prophet Muhammad says – “The eclipse of the sun and the moon does not occur due to anyone's death or birth, but it is one of the signs of Allah. And when you see it, read Namaaz and pray to Allah.” (Sahih Bukhari) .

Salauddin Mufti Qasmi further said that through solar eclipse and lunar eclipse, Allah wants to tell that there is so much light in the sun and moon and if Allah wants, he can completely destroy their light. It is mentioned in the Hadiths that when there was a solar eclipse or lunar eclipse, Prophet Muhammad used to go to the mosque and get busy in Namaaz. Prophet Muhammad used to remain busy in the worship and prayer of Allah until the eclipse was over. In such a situation, Muslims should worship Allah as much as possible during solar eclipse or lunar eclipse and repent of their sins.

Which namaz is recited during lunar eclipse?

In Islam, Salatul Kusuf Namaaz is recited during a lunar eclipse, which is also called Salatul Khusuf. This is a different Namaaz from the daily prayers, which is recited from the beginning of the eclipse till its end. It is recited in two rak'at by doing four ruku (bowing) and two sajda. The purpose of this Namaaz is to remember Allah, repent and pray. It is a nafl (optional) Namaaz, but it has great importance. Salatul Kusuf Namaaz is not mandatory for every Muslim, but if a person sees the moon during an eclipse, he should recite this Namaaz until the effect of the eclipse ends.

What do Muslims do in lunar eclipse?

During a lunar eclipse, Muslims offer a prayer called Salatul Kusuf. Apart from this, it is advised to remember Allah, repent from sins, help the poor and do good deeds. Salatul Kusuf prayer can be offered in congregation or alone. Instead of panicking during a lunar eclipse, it is time to worship Allah.

What should Muslims do during lunar eclipse?

Salatul Kusoof: This is a special prayer recited during lunar eclipse. It is a long prayer and contains long surahs.

Remembering Allah and praying:- According to Hadith, during lunar eclipse one should remember Allah and spend time in prayer.

Repentance and Astaghfar:- During this period one should repent to Allah and recite Astaghfar as much as possible.

Recitation of Quran: - Verses like Surah Falak, Surah Nas and Ayat al-Kursi should be recited.

Giving charity:- By giving charity and Sadaqah on this occasion, blessings of Allah are attained, hence charity should be given to the poor.
