Viewers of were overjoyed last year with the comeback of Tristan Farnon, portrayed by Callum Woodhouse.
The beloved character had departed at the end of series three to join the Royal Army Veterinary Corps, leaving fans missing his sharp banter with brother Siegfried (Samuel West).
Despite Siegfried's assistance from student vet Richard Carmody (James Anthony-Rose), the absence of the Farnon brothers' repartee was keenly felt.
Tristan's return in the latest season was met with jubilation as he seamlessly slipped back into Darrowby life.
With audiences eager for Tristan's permanent stay, actor Callum Woodhouse has teased a potential romance for his character on the Channel 5 drama, reports Lancs Live.
Speaking to Masterpiece, Callum shared his aspirations for Tristan: "I want Tristan to carry on exactly how he is - holding on to his spirit and his energy, but carrying on at times, pulling his socks up and getting his head down and focusing when something needs to be done.
"And standing up to Siegfried's carrying on, but not in an aggressive or truanting way, just in a way of him knowing who he is, and in those times when he knows that he's done a good job, then yeah, he can go down to the Drovers for the night, rather than slacking off in any way.
"I'd like him to maybe find his Helen, which would be nice. We don't know who's that going to be, if it's going to be someone we already know or if it's going to be someone new. But I think he's got a lot to give in that regard."
Earlier this year, the actor shared with Express his plans for All Creatures Great and Small, stating he'd remain on the show as long as it 'made sense'.

However, he pointed out that the portrayal of the real Tristan might not align with what viewers see on screen.
Callum noted: "In the real history of the characters, Tristan did actually go and start to work in the agricultural department and stepped away from the veterinary practice.
"But I think we might be differing from that slightly, so that Tristan can stay in. But yeah, as long as it makes sense, I definitely will be in the show."
While there's no confirmed release date for the new series, filming is currently in progress. In February, actor Samuel West posted a photo on Twitter, announcing the cast's return to set.
Fans were quick to express their anticipation, with one saying: "Brilliant can't wait!" Another added: "Yippee!! My favourite show... might have a lot to do with a certain Siegfried.."
Another fan commented: "Looking forward to seeing it." While another tweeted: "Fantastic news. Looking forward to seeing the series."
All Creatures Great and Small is available to watch on My5.
