Boden shoppers race to buy 'luxury' wool coat in 'gorgeous' colour with 25% reduction

As the air gets colder and winter approaches, many shoppers will be on the lookout for a cosy coat for the new season. Now, those looking for a striking offering that brightens up any winter outfit might find the perfect coat at Boden.

The Newport Wool Coat in Cranberry Red has already proven to be a hit with shoppers, and while some may find its £249 price tag to be out of budget, for a limited time buyers can save 25% with the code JDNF. The discount brings the coat down to £186.75, helping shoppers save on the quality wool coat, but the code is only valid until tomorrow (October 30).

According to Boden, the coat will 'last for years', and is made from a 76% wool blend. It has proper vents, functional pockets, and has a slim regular fit that's designed to fall below the knee, and is fully lined for a cosy, quality fit.

If red isn't suitable, the coat also comes in navy and charcoal shades, all with the same button fastening, padded shoulders and collar detail. Whichever colour shoppers prefer, the coat looks smart enough for the office and important meetings while being warm enough to withstand winter chills.

There are lots of other wool coats out there to choose from, too. Over at Next, there's the Neutral Houndstooth Single Breasted Longline Collared Coat for £124, which falls below the knee and has a stylish oversized fit.

Alternatively, M&S has a cropped Wool Blend Single Breasted Coat for £75. This one is in a calming khaki green, sits on the waist, and is made from 32% wool.

Over at Boden, shoppers seem to be loving the Newport Wool Coat. One buyer said: "Arrived today, I ordered 14 petite and the fit is very good. The sleeves are the right length and the coat below the knee in length.

"It is a straight shape with pockets which don't intrude on the shape and a collar and lapels easily turned up for more warmth. I haven't found a spare button yet but I'll go on looking.

"The coat feels very warm so will only need a light jumper underneath. The colour is a lovely cranberry red not pillar box and with no purplish tinge. The lining is a black and white map of London, very smart. I'm very pleased with it especially with the discount! The fabric is Italian wool of a high quality."

Another said: "I purchased Size Petite 4 and it fits like a dream, albeit without a lot of extra room. I would consider this a slim fit coat, which works for me.

"The grey fabric is gorgeous and I love the London map lining. The pockets are deep and located perfectly. This was my third try at finding the right winter Boden coat, and the Newport ticks all the boxes for me."

While there were no more reviews of the Newport coat, someone who bought a different wool coat from Boden said: "Perfect fit, and the sleeves are long enough! Love the big patch pockets, and the pretty lining. This coat is a wonderful colour for autumn. I would definitely like one in another colour. Beautifully packaged so it feels luxurious."

However, someone else said as part of a longer review of another Boden wool coat: "Unfortunately even though it was quite heavy, it wasn't warm at all." Another said: "Although the 14 is a little roomy, I don't mind it especially when wearing bulkier sweaters."
