Chelsea can send five stars to Brighton in Joao Pedro swap deal as 'transfer meeting held'

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Brighton came within a whisker of landing the central midfielder less than a year ago. Last summer, Dewsbury-Hall put the brakes on a move to the south coast and headed to Chelsea for , reuniting him with former Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca.

But after only two Premier League starts and 255 minutes, he may now regret that decision. And if a second opportunity to join Brighton presents itself, with Joao Pedro heading the other way, the 26-year-old could be easier to convince.

Tosin Adarabioyo

Brighton hold a long-standing interest in the centre-back and they could finally get their hands on him if Chelsea are prepared to negotiate a player-plus-cash arrangement. Tosin is tied to a lucrative long-term contract, but having only started 14 Premier League games this season, he could be tempted to move elsewhere as he enters the prime years of his career.

Levi Colwill

The Seagulls were desperate to keep hold of Colwill after taking him on loan in 2022/23. At that point, he was one of the most promising young central defenders in England. The 22-year-old is still a regular starter at Chelsea, but his stock may have fallen just enough for Stamford Bridge bosses to consider including him in a swap.

Christopher Nkunku

Despite having no prior links to the Amex Stadium, Nkunku is a player who could pique their interest. The 27-year-old is of a similar profile to Joao Pedro as he can play centrally and out wide. Add in his solid scoring numbers - 14 in 42 games this season - and the fact he remains on the fringes at Chelsea, and various signs point towards a deal that's there to be done.

Raheem Sterling

Sterling is a Premier League heavyweight just waiting for the move that could reignite his career. The 30-year-old has stagnated on loan at Arsenal this season and Chelsea are expected to try and offload him in the summer. It remains to be seen whether Sterling is a player Brighton bosses see as a useful addition to a squad which boasts a healthy blend of youth and experience.
