A presenter has lashed out at as he continues his state visit in . The King and Queen Camilla visited the Canadian parliament this week and sent a message to Donald Trump on behalf of the government. Meanwhile, prior to his 26-minute speech, the King and Queen arrived at parliament with splendour, using horses and carriages. This attracted backlash from Narinder Kaur who is a regular guest on Good Morning Britain. Taking to social media, she slammed the 76-year-old monarch for his method of transport.
She tweeted, "Good god. He arrives on a horse and carriage (no less) and starts lecturing on the state of world affairs! How utterly devoid from reality are the royals??"
Several of her followers responded to her view in the comments section, with some reacting that she should 'have some respect' for King Charles and that Canada was the country who put on the arrival ceremony for him.
One wrote, "He is the king. What do you expect him to ride in on a bicycle? The monarch is expected to maintain tradition here, and he is also a tourist attraction."
A second person also echoed, "You do realise that the transport he used was provided by the Canadians don't you. He doesn't take his own horses with him on the plane."
A third person also commented, "He's literally a KING! Did you expect him to turn up on a skateboard? He also owns all crown lands in Canada! Also did you expect him to talk about the latest episode of Eastenders when he was there?"
During his speech, the King warned Canada that the country is facing a "critical moment" in its history, with the world a "more dangerous and uncertain place."
He spoke of a "renewed sense of national pride and hope" and of defending "values", stating: "As the anthem reminds us, the 'true north' is indeed strong and free."
