Holly Willoughby stalker's chilling six-word confession as he was arrested for sick plot

A harrowing Channel 5 documentary has unveiled disturbing footage of the man who chillingly plotted to kidnap and kill TV star Holly Willoughby.

Security guard Gavin Plumb obsessively collected thousands of images of Holly, meticulously tracked her every move, investigated her home and security details, and even enlisted accomplices to bring his depraved sexual fantasies to life.

Their plot was to abduct Holly, take her to an isolated spot where she would be brutally sexually assaulted before being murdered. The documentary showed viewers the chilling moment when police stormed Plumb's residence to apprehend him.

In a piece of mobile phone footage, a voice narrates the grim inventory discovered at Plumb's home: "Three lots of rope, metal cable ties, two sets of handcuffs..." reports Essex Live.

Former senior detective Philip Grindell, now a security consultant, commented during the documentary: "When the police go to arrest him, they're looking for a man who is called Gavin Plumb."

He explained the urgency of the situation: "It's not a case of knocking the door and asking him to open the door. They forcibly enter the door with what in the police is often referred to as the big red hammer.

"The reason they're breaking in is to prevent him from destroying any evidence, such as deleting files from his phone or computer, or from injuring himself."

Caught on police bodycam, Plumb appears utterly bewildered as he exclaims: "What is going on...what are you talking about?"

A police officer can be heard informing the suspect: "So, at the moment, you're under arrest for conspiracy to kidnap."

Plumb, bewildered, inquired: "Who?" The officer responded: "Holly Willoughby, that is the allegation."

Plumb appeared puzzled as he questioned: "Ok...where has that come from?"

"His face tells a story then," Philip observed. "There's this moment when you make that kind of arrest, they're trying to figure out, 'how much do you know? How much trouble am I actually in?'"

The video showed Plumb eerily confessing to the officers, "I'm not going to lie, she is a fantasy of mine. She is a fantasy of a lot of guys, isn't she?"

Philip noted: "So once he's back at the police station, he makes no comment, which is entirely his right. It's sound advice that a lawyer would give him, which is, say nothing until we know what they've got."

In July 2024, Gavin Plumb, aged 37, was found guilty of soliciting the kidnap, rape, and murder of Holly Willoughby. Holly had been unaware of Plumb's near-decade-long sinister obsession with her.

When Holly was informed of the plot mere hours before she was due to appear on television, it irrevocably altered her life. Forced to step back from her successful career, she retreated from the public eye while the police worked on their case against Plumb.

The Plot To Kill Holly Willoughby is available to stream on 5.
