Lady Louise Windsor was joined by her "university boyfriend" at the prestigious Horse Driving Trials on Friday. The 21-year-old was also joined by the Duchess of Edinburgh.
Following in her late grandfather's footsteps, the royal appeared composed and self-assured as she participated in the carriage-driving competition. Having established the sport, Prince Philip appeared to have led the way for his youngest granddaughter and her much-loved hobby.
Felix da Silva-Clamp, whom Louise met whilst studying at St Andrews University, observed his girlfriend's equestrian skills from the sidelines.
Joining her daughter, Duchess Sophie, 60, was also spotted engaging warmly with other attendees at the Norfolk estate.
Having earlier retired from polo, Philip used the sport to maintain his enthusiasm for the sport despite occasional tumbles during competitions until his later years.
Prince Edward's only daughter, currently 16th in line to the throne, has been actively taking on the sport since her teenage years.
The royal, who is in her third year at the university that is best known for being where Prince William met Princess Kate in the early 2000s, was noticeably absent from this year's Trooping the Colour earlier this month.
Her university schedule has previously prevented her from attending major royal occasions - although she has been present at many in the past.
As well as her dedication to her equestrian hobby, Louise actively participates in the University Officers' Training Corps alongside her academic pursuits.
Sophie has previously expressed how proud she is of her daughter's commitment to the sport.
