Brenda Edwards courageously revealed the hurdles she has encountered following the sad death of her son Jamal Edwards in February 2022. She appeared on Monday's episode (May 5) of Loose Women alongside fellow panellists Charlene White, Linda Robson, and Gloria Hunniford.
When sharing their individual accounts of coping with bereavement, Brenda touched upon her own arsenal of tools to gain strength throughout her sorrow and mentioned her supportive family.
However, with a heart-wrenching phrase - "I'm definitely not moving on" - she emphasised she would never fully move past this tragedy.
Brenda clarified: "I have had some people message and say 'it's nice to see you're moving on.' And I'm definitely not moving on from anything."
She added that finding solace in cherished memories helped her cope, saying: "It gives me strength to remember, and it gives me strength to have a legacy to keep working on."
Furthermore, Brenda's supportive family is what truly helped her stay grounded, reports .
Brenda offered words of encouragement and advice about grief, she added: "My family are so supportive and that means everything to me. Keep calm, keep smiling and carry on."
Her wise words paved the way for Gloria, who also shared her grief following the death of her daughter Caron from breast cancer in 2004.
Caron was a presenter on Blue Peter, but even now, Gloria discussed the heartbreak still associated with this tragic loss and some things she found helpful in alleviating that pain.

Gloria has faced the heartache of losing her first husband, Don Keating, father to her children, who passed away in 1997, and more recently, the passing of her second husband, Stephen Way, in August last year at 85.
Speaking to the Loose Women panel, the esteemed TV personality shared: "My head is my toolkit. Brenda and I know what it's like to lose a child. Everybody grieves differently, and everybody copes differently."
She further agreed with fellow panellist Brenda, saying: "Brenda is right when she said 'you don't move on' or you 'don't get over it', it's a coping mechanism."
Loose Women airs at 12:30pm on weekdays on ITV and ITVX.
