
A major UK motorway used by tens of thousands of people each day has been shut after a car burst into flames, bringing "all traffic" to a halt.
National Highways has put diversions in place on a section of the M2, with drivers being warned to plan ahead. The incident has seen traffic come to a complete halt on the westbound carriageway between Junction 3 for Chatham (Kent) and Junction 2 for the A228 Sundridge Hill (Rochester). The congestion has seen large queues form after the car caught fire.
