Crime drama fans are being encouraged to tune in to a new investigative series that's coming soon to the UK.
The gripping Canadian crime drama, Sight Unseen, tracks homicide detective Tess who is thrown into an investigation alongside her partner Jake. Tess's world is soon changed when she's confirmed clinically blind due to significant vision problems, leading her to step down from her position.
Tess joins forces with Sunny Patel, her eye guide, who becomes her visual aid. Over in New York, it's revealed that Sunny, guiding Tess remotely via camera and a phone, suffers from agoraphobia.
As they work together, Tess and Sunny form an unconventional crime-solving partnership. Hailed as a "high stakes detectives thriller" on IMDB, the show has already premiered in the US and Canada.
Now, UK audiences will have the chance to binge-watch the series; Paramount Plus UK is set to release the first three episodes on July 3, with subsequent episodes dropping weekly, reports Surrey Live.
Fan reactions on IMDB suggest the series has been well-received elsewhere, with one viewer stating: "This show is a really fun watch for anyone who likes mystery/crime solving, female leads, and/or disability representation."
Another said: "I was waiting for this show to show up. The trailers during regular broadcast TV made me want this in my weekly viewing. The cast is amazing.
"I deal with vision impairments myself and this show makes me feel like I can do more than I am currently doing."
A third praised: "This show is actually quite amazing! It's a little cheeky, has a great cast and an entirely unique premise."
The series stars Dolly Lewis (as Tess), who also lives with a visual impairment, adding authenticity to the portrayal. Daniel Gillies, known for his role in 'The Originals', steps into the shoes of Jake, while Agam Darshi brings to life the character of Sunny Patel.
The initial three episodes is set to drop on July 3, throwing viewers straight into Tess's world as she comes to terms with her new diagnosis and forms an unexpected alliance with her seeing eye guide.
The rest of the series will follow suit, releasing episodes on a weekly basis, totalling around ten episodes.
Sight Unseen is available to stream on July 3 on Paramount+
