Trump's UK state visit itinerary in full: From carriage ride to state banquet and speeches

Donald Trump will commence a packed schedule of engagements on the first day of his UK state visit today. The diary is jam-packed full of pomp and pageantry, with highlights including an impressive display by the RAF Red Arrows and a glittering state banquet this evening.

The US President is extremely fond of the Royal Family, and the UK Government hopes to use the Royal Family's soft power diplomacy during this two-day stay at Windsor Castle, as they seek a deal on investment and tariffs. Following today's ceremonial welcome in Berkshire, Trump and the First Lady will travel to Chequers to spend time with Sir Keir Starmer.

Here, the Daily Express details the full itinerary of Trump's UK state visit:

• The US President and First Lady arrived at Stansted Airport on Tuesday evening on board Air Force One.
• They were greeted by the US ambassador to the UK, Warren Stephens.
• The Viscount Hood, Lord-in-Waiting, will welcome them on behalf of the King.

• The Prince and Princess of Wales will greet the President and the First Lady in the grounds of Windsor Castle and formally introduce them to the King and Queen.
• Royal Salutes will be fired from the East Lawn of Windsor Castle and at the Tower of London as an official welcome.
• The two royal couples and the Presidential couple will then take part in a carriage procession where they will be accompanied by the Household Cavalry, Mounted Regiment, as well as other members of the Armed Forces and three military bands.
• As they arrive in Windsor Castle's Quadrangle, a Guard of Honour made up of three regiments of the Foot Guards will greet the party. The King and Queen will be joined on a dais by the President and First Lady, before Mr Trump is invited by the King to inspect the Guard of Honour.
• Following a lunch in the State Dining Room, the group will view special items from the Royal Collection relating to the US.
• The President and First Lady visit St George's Chapel and lay a wreath on Queen Elizabeth II's tomb, before receiving a tour of the chapel.
• In a major departure from tradition, the President and First Lady will join The King and Queen, The Prime Minister and Lady Starmer and US and British military families to view a Beating Retreat ceremony on the East Lawn of Windsor Castle.
• There could also be a flypast of Red Arrows and US F-35 military jets, if the weather permits.
• The State Banquet will take place in the evening in St George's Hall. Both the King and the President will give speeches.

• The King and Queen will bid a formal goodbye to the President and the First Lady at Windsor Castle on Thursday morning.
• The President will travel to Chequers, where he will be met by The Prime Minister and Lady Starmer, and greeted with a Guard of Honour from RAF Halton and bagpipers.
• The President and the Prime Minister will view the Sir Winston Churchill archives held at Chequers, before having a bilateral meeting.
• The President and the Prime Minister will hold a press conference at Chequers.
• After Trump's departure from Windsor Castle, The Queen and First Lady will tour Queen Mary's Dolls' House and the Royal Library at Windsor Castle.
• The First Lady will then join the Princess of Wales in Frogmore Gardens to meet the Chief Scout, Dwayne Fields and participants in the Scouts' Squirrels programme who are working to achieve their Go Wild badge.
