Deepika Padukone is reportedly set to earn the highest paycheck of her career, with sources suggesting she will be paid an impressive Rs 20 crore for her role in an upcoming film.
After the release of Kalki 2898 AD where she starred alongside Prabhas, Deepika has not confirmed any new projects, especially since the birth of her daughter, Dua. However, strong industry buzz indicates she may once again share the screen with Prabhas in Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Although no official announcement has been made, a prominent publication recently reported her inclusion in the film, claiming she agreed to do the project after adjustments were made to the production schedule.
Initially, Deepika was unable to commit to Spirit due to its original timeline, which clashed with her pregnancy. But with delays pushing the start date, the project circled back to her with a revised schedule that now aligns with her availability.
Reportedly, she was drawn to the script not only because of its depth but also due to the complexity of her character, which she found particularly compelling. Insiders describe the female role in Spirit as the most finely crafted among Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s works so far.
Currently, Spirit is in the final stages of scripting and filming is expected to begin in October this year. The shoot was initially scheduled for January but was postponed due to an injury Prabhas sustained during another project, Fauji. The movie is being produced by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures and is set for a 2027 release.
In addition to Spirit, Deepika is also preparing to shoot the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, further solidifying her on-screen partnership with Prabhas and continuing her high-profile presence in big-budget cinema.
