Gumla: Deputy commissioner (DC) Karn Satyarthi will address the plenary session during the Civil Services Day event in New Delhi's Vigyan Bhawan on April 21.
He will also receive the Prime Minister's Award for Excellence in Public Administration from PM Narendra Modi for "Holistic Development of Districts."
Satyarthi, a 2016-batch IAS officer, will address the session on "Civil Services Reforms: Challenges and Opportunities", which will be chaired by Union cabinet secretary TV Somanathan and will witness participation of bureaucrats from across the country.
The Union ministry for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension has extended formal invitations to Satyarthi through two separate DO letters - one for the PM Award and another as a speaker for the Plenary Session.
The gathering is expected to draw over 1,200 senior government officers from Union and state govts, including secretaries to the Union govt, heads of govt organisations and chief secretaries.
Speaking to TOI about his selection as a plenary session speaker, Satyarthi expressed, "It is an honour to represent the challenges and opportunities for the bureaucracy, especially in the context of Jharkhand, before the Union cabinet secretary."
The event highlights the recognition of young administrative officers and their contribution to public service reforms and development initiatives.
