Actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut is no stranger to speaking her mind. From calling out nepotism in Bollywood to voicing strong opinions as a political figure, she’s always bold and unfiltered. Now, as she dives deeper into her political journey as an MP from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, the ‘'Queen' actress praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking at public gatherings, she described him as more than just a leader – calling him an 'avtar’ and even comparing him to the ‘moon’.
‘PM Modi is not an ordinary human being’
While addressing a gathering at Ladbhadol in the Jogindernagar Assembly constituency on Tuesday, April 8, Kangana showered praise on PM Modi. As reported by ABP News, she said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not an ordinary human being but an avtar. When he came in 2014, the thinking of the youth towards politics changed. Before 2014, my thinking towards politics was such that politics seemed unfortunate."
The 'Tanu Weds Manu' actress went on to say,"With the start of Modi rule in the country after 2014, a new wave of development has come. New projects are coming to the ground and the country is moving towards becoming a world leader," she added.
‘Chand pe daag hota hai, unpe ek bhi daag nahin hai’
In another address at the Jarol assembly constituency in Himachal Pradesh’s Sundernagar, the 'Emergency' actress doubled down on her admiration for the PM. Highlighting the corruption scandals that plagued earlier governments, Kangana said things had changed since Modi took over.
As per Hindustan Times, she remarked, “Before 2014, there used to be a lot of scams – 2G scam, coal scam, Fodder Scam... There is not even a single stain on PM Modi. 'Chand pe daag hota hai, unpe ek bhi daag nahin hai (There are spots on the moon, but there is no spot on PM Modi)'..."
Finding her balance between acting and politics
Juggling her film career and political responsibilities hasn't been easy, but Kangana is learning to adapt. Speaking to ETimes last year, she opened up about the emotional shift that politics has brought into her life. “I am trying to balance it and also trying to develop a sort of hard skin where I get accustomed to handling it because as an artist, I am only accustomed to channelize it. I have always been in a medium where I see beauty, or as an artist, I can feel it like a tangible object and I can access it. I am the kind of an alchemist who can keep it inside me, and then later I can project it.”
The 'Manikarnika’ actress further added, “Politics is literally about serving people.”
On the film front, Kangana was last seen in the political drama ‘Emergency’, where she portrayed former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi
