Foreign minister Abdulla Khaleel arrived on Sunday for his third visit to India in 2025 in continuation of what the Indian govt described as intensified high-level political exchanges between India and the Maldives. According to the MEA, Khaleel will lead Maldives at the 2nd India-Maldives High Level Core Group (HLCG) meeting to oversee progress in the implementation of the India-Maldives Vision Document on Comprehensive Economic and Maritime Security Partnership, adopted by PM Narendra Modi and President Mohamed Muizzu during the latter's visit to India in Oct 2024. During the visit, Khaleel will also hold bilateral discussions with EAM S Jaishankar .
