NEW DELHI: Supreme Court has rejected an RTI plea to disclose the report of the apex court-appointed committee against Allahabad high court judge Justice Yashwant Varma in the cash discovery row .
The RTI application had also sought the communication of the then CJI Sanjiv Khanna to President Droupadi Murmu and PM Narendra Modi in the matter. The SC administration cited confidentiality of the communication and rejected the application on the ground that it also may violate parliamentary privilege. Earlier this month, the then CJI Khanna had sent the report to the President and the PM for further action.
SC, on the judicial side, had refused to entertain a plea seeking filing of FIR against Justice Varma and had said it was for the President and the PM to take action on the basis of the report.
