In fact, Elon Musk has stopped receiving any special treatment from the administrations, Republican insiders said, asserting that Musk is "finished done and gone". According to a Politico report, nobody now mentions Elon Musk's name, even Democrats have almost forgotten him.
“He’s finished, done, gone. He polls terrible. People hate him,” said a GOP operative who Politico granted anonymity. “He’d go to Wisconsin thinking he can buy people’s votes, wear the cheese hat, act like a 9-year-old. ... It doesn’t work. It’s offensive to people," the person told referring to the Wisconsin judge election that delivered a major blow to Elon Musk and the candidate he backed lost.
The Politico report noted that Trump posted about the Tesla CEO an average of roughly four times per week in February and March. But there was no mention of Musk since the beginning of April on Trump's Truth Social.

Trump's press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, told Politico in a statement that the mission of DOGE will continue. "DOGE employees who onboarded at their respective agencies will continue to work with President Trump's cabinet to make our government more efficient," Leavitt said.
